The Open Schooling and Skill Education Board (BOSSE) in Sikkim is a pioneering institution dedicated to addressing the diverse academic requirements of a wide range of students up to the pre-degree level. This includes Secondary/Senior Secondary education as well as skill and vocational training. Established under Act no.14 of 2020 by the Sikkim Legislative Assembly on 21-09-2020, in accordance with the Sikkim Act 2020, BOSSE is committed to promoting and disseminating open schooling education at both the state and national levels.
BOSSE has a comprehensive vision to enhance and fortify open schooling education, fostering pathways to advanced studies nationwide through various learning modalities. By implementing a flexible education system that seamlessly integrates academic and vocational programs, BOSSE’s mission is to democratize education and foster greater equality and justice in society.
The Board extends opportunities to enthusiastic learners through open and distance learning modes, offering a range of courses and programs at different levels, including:
